Amélie musical to transfer to the West End for socially distanced run from May

EXCLUSIVE: The award-nominated manufacturing of Amélie the Musical will switch to the West Finish, it has been confirmed.

The present will play from 20 Could 2021 on the Criterion Theatre, after finishing a smash-hit tour in 2019 and a Christmas season at The Different Palace.

Based mostly on the movie by Jean-Pierre Jeunet, the piece has music by Hem’s Daniel Messé, lyrics by Nathan Tysen and Messé and e book by Craig Lucas. The difference is directed by Michael Fentiman.

Audrey Brisson will lead the present, with the full 2021 West End cast revealed here. The piece charts the romantic and social lifetime of a reclusive but eccentric younger girl in Paris through the Nineteen Nineties. The brand new forged album was not too long ago nominated for a Grammy.

Designs for the present are by Madeleine Girling, motion route is by Tom Jackson Greaves, musical supervision and preparations by Barnaby Race, puppet design and building by Dik Downey, lighting design by Elliot Griggs and musical route, further orchestrations and preparations by Samuel Wilson.

Tickets for the West Finish switch are on sale now through the Criterion Theatre web site with dates accessible via till 25 September.

The piece will initially play to socially distanced audiences on the Criterion Theatre “till such a time that social distancing is not a authorized requirement”.
